Inside the Studio, Outside the Box

The harder the fight, the sweeter the victory

Right?!? I really do believe that it's true. So I know  that it will be one sweet victory when

a) I finally get my lease signed

b) Get keys in my hot little hand

c) Can finally announce where & when I will be open and lure you all in to play in the Studio!

For now though, I have to be patient, open-minded and keep my cool. Thank you all for being so patient with me as well. I can only you believe me when tell you that it will all be worth it in the end!

Another lesson in business

No matter how much it looks like things will go smoothly, don't count on it until it over.

Case in point: Sunday morning I get an email asking if I am ready to sign my lease and can I do it on Monday. Yay! I am so excited (and nervous) to FINALLY get moving into the space and get ready to open!

There were a few issues with the paperwork, so it needs to be reworked. No biggie, maybe we can sign the next day.

That turns into two days. Less than five minutes before I am supposed to meet the building owner to sign new paperwork there is a new problem. Ok, maybe we can sign the next day.

Or, maybe not.

The third time is the charm?...I have an appointment in the morning to sign my lease. Wish me luck!

Hopefully my next post is all about the excitement of FINALLY getting the keys!!

Some days are more productive than others

 And today was one of those seemingly endless, unproductive days. I don't have much to show for today except that I have one little sneak peak of the kit for next week's class.

 

The plan was to get the sample finished and start planning next month's classes and events. But instead, I handled moer of the business end of things again today. All good stuff, but not very much concrete evidence of me getting anything done. That's just how some days are...tomorrow is another day!

Is this how Martha started out?

Ah, the life of an entrepreneur...just finished cleaning up the aftermath of a motion-sick child (don't ask - you DON'T want to know), vacuumed the floors, started another load of laundry and rejected yet another revision of the homepage layout for my new new website that I am dying to get up and running.

Now, I need to focus on negotiations for the leasing of the space I'm hoping to get into and check on the closing of my loan and I need to get the artwork in for my first ad that is due today.

Oh, and I should probably get a few more class samples ready to photograph and update the calendar  I spent half of last night trying to figure out how to embed here on the blog and then configure it so you could actually read it and...

The list goes on and on and on, but that's what makes it fun too! Can't wait to share the Studio with all of you!
