As some of you may already know, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer a couple of months ago. I underwent a total throidectomy before Thanksgiving and am recovering nicely. We are still waiting on pathology reports as to whether or not I will need to undergo any other treatment; we should know that in another week.
The good news is that this type of cancer has a very high curability rate and a low rate of recurrence, so the expectation is that other than medication to compensate for my lack of thyroid, things should be pretty much normal again.
I want to thank everyone that sent good wishes and prayers for a quick recovery - it worked!
I'm sorry to hear this news, but it explains why I didnt see you at the shop this past week! I hope the biopsy turns out for you. Sending a lot of well wishes your way. Will you be there for Happy Hour on the 7th??
